Chadbourn Town Council Members

Mayor Kenneth N. Waddell
	Mayor Waddell has served as a member of council since 1987 and was first elected Mayor in 2005. He is a lifelong resident of Columbus County and was employed by Columbus County Schools as an agriculture teacher for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2009. He presently is actively involved in farming with his dad near his original hometown of Fair Bluff. He also is very involved in civic affairs in both Chadbourn and Columbus County. He currently is a member of the Chadbourn Community Development Corporation, Chadbourn Downtown Revitalization Committee, Chadbourn Lions Club, Columbus County Board of Health, Discover Columbus Committee, NC Strawberry Association, Chadbourn Chamber of Commerce, and is active in other civic functions. He is a member of Chadbourn Baptist Church where he has served as deacon. He received a BS degree in Animal Science in 1975 and a Masters in Education in 1985 from NCSU. He is married to Susan and they have two children.

Mayor Pro Tem Fax Rector, Jr.
	Mr. Rector has been a member of Town Council since 2003 and has served as Mayor Pro Tem since 2007. He is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has lived in Chadbourn since 1981. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1967. Mr. Rector worked for the Wilmington Star News for 15 years as Director of Information Technology retiring in 1995. He is a member Chadbourn Methodist Church and has served in various jobs. He has been married to Beth Avant for 39 years and they have 4 children, 10 grandchildren and one great grandson. Mr. Rector is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Mr Rector is a ember of the Chadbourn Community Development Corporation, Chadbourn Chamber of Commerce and Chadbourn Downtown Revitalization.

Councilman Brian Edwards
	Mr. Edwards has been a resident of Chadbourn, North Carolina for most of his life. He is a graduate of West Columbus High School (1980). Upon graduation from high school, Mr. Edwards served two years in the United States Army. Upon leaving the Army, Mr. Edwards attended Southeastern Community College. He is married to Mona Cartrette Edwards and they have three sons. He has been an employee of Chadbourn Insurance Agency since 1985 and became the owner of the business in 1989. He was appointed to Town Council in January 2006 and elected to Town Council in November 2007. Mr. Edwards is a member of Chadbourn Baptist Church. Furthermore, he has served as a board member of the Chadbourn Chamber of Commerce since 1987. In addition he has been the treasurer for the Chadbourn Community Development Corporation since 1994 and the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 504 since 1994.

Councilman Rashad Roberts
	Mr. Roberts is a lifelong resident of Chadbourn, North Carolina. He is a graduate of West Columbus High School. Upon graduation, Mr. Roberts attended North Carolina A&T State University for two years. He is currently employed as the Postmaster for the Riegelwood Post Office. Mr. Roberts has been married to his wife (Shamika) since 1998 and they are the proud parents of two daughters and one son. He has been a member of the Town Council since 2003. Mr. Roberts is a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Chadbourn where he is a member of the Deacon Board, Laymen League and the Male Chorus. He is, also, a member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge.

Councilman Edwin Roberts
	Mr. Roberts has been amember of Town since 2011. He is a native of Cranston, Rhode Island. Mr. Roberts has a degree in psychology and business management. In 2004, Mr.Roberts and his wife moved from Massachusettsto Chadbourn and bought a bed and breakfast on First Avenue. Mr. Roberts is married toRegina Bourne Roberts and they have four children and three grandchildren. He hasoperated several businesses including a coffee shop, pre-paid phone cards and adaycare. His hobbies include NASCAR and coin collecting.

Councilman Phillip Honeycutt
	Mr. Honeycutt is a lifelong resident of Chadbourn, North Carolina. He is a graduate of West Columbus High School and he received an Associate of Art degree in Business from Southeastern Community College. He is the co-owner of Honeycutt Produce with his brother Johnny. He has been married to his wife (Cindy) since 1977 and they are the proud parents of three daughters. Mr. Honeycutt has been a member of Town Council since December 2009. He is a member of Missionary Alliance Church in Whiteville and serves as an Elder. Furthermore, Mr. Honeycutt is a member of: the Chadbourn Community Development Corporation, Chadbourn Chamber of Commerce, Chadbourn Downtown Revitalization and the North Carolina Strawberry Festival.
